Adam Schechter

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Adam Schechter became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Labcorp in 2019 and Chairman of the Board in May 2020. Prior to that, he was named Lead Independent Director after serving as a director of the company since 2013. 

Before joining Labcorp, Mr. Schechter held a variety of senior leadership positions at Merck & Co., Inc. He was Executive Vice President and President of Merck’s Global Human Health Division from 2010 to 2018 leading the company’s worldwide pharmaceutical and vaccine businesses. In this role, he was also a member of Merck’s executive committee. 

Prior to becoming President of Merck’s Global Human Health Division, Mr. Schechter served as President of Merck’s global pharmaceutical business from 2007 to 2010. His extensive experience at Merck also included global and U.S.-focused leadership roles spanning sales, marketing and managed markets, as well as business and product development. 

Mr. Schechter has been a Board Member for DaVita Inc. since 2022, and he serves on the Board for Water.org. He also serves as the American Clinical Laboratory Association (ACLA) Board Vice-Chair, and a member of the Corporate Advisory Council for the National Alliance for Hispanic Health. In 2025, Mr. Schechter joined the Board of Project HOPE, a leading global health and humanitarian organization. Previously, he served on the Boards of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), where he led the Policy and Access Committee, the Healthcare Leadership Council and the Merial Animal Health Company. 

Mr. Schechter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Brian Caveney, M.D.

President, Biopharma Laboratory Services and Chief Medical and Scientific Officer

Brian Caveney, M.D. has served as Executive Vice President and President, Biopharma Laboratory Services and Chief Medical and Scientific Officer at Labcorp since September 2026 and previously served as Labcorp’s Executive Vice President and President, Early Development Research Laboratories and Chief Medical and Scientific Officer at Labcorp from 2023 to 2026. From 2019 to 2023, he served as EVP and President, Diagnostics and Chief Medical Officer. From 2017 to 2019, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. In his current role, Brian leads our global biopharma laboratory services business, in addition to medical and scientific affairs, research and development, and quality for Labcorp.

Since joining Labcorp in 2017, Brian has been instrumental in accelerating growth in the company’s business units and advancing its medical and scientific strategy. Under his leadership, the company has expanded diagnostic testing services, introduced new assays across key therapeutic areas, and expanded its hospital strategy. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Brian led efforts to expand the accessibility of PCR testing, used his expertise to help bring understanding about testing and treatment options to the public, and drove advancements to the way the company works with the broader healthcare industry.

Before joining Labcorp in 2017, Brian was the Chief Medical Officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. In addition to various roles in the healthcare division of the core health plan, Brian also served as Chief Clinical Officer of Mosaic Health Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Blue Cross NC, for strategic investments in diversified health solutions businesses. Previously, he was a practicing physician and assistant professor at Duke University Medical Center.

Brian serves on the Board of Directors of the Personalized Medicine Coalition, the Healthcare Leadership Council, and North Carolina Healthcare Quality Alliance. He is a Board Observer for CND Life Sciences, Inc. He holds a Doctor of Medicine from the West Virginia University School of Medicine, a Juris Doctorate from the West Virginia University College of Law, and a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his residency at Duke University Medical Center and is board certified in preventive medicine, with a specialty in occupational and environmental medicine.

Bola Oyegunwa, Ph.D.

Chief Information and Technology Officer

Bola Oyegunwa, Ph.D., has served as Labcorp’s Chief Information Officer since November 2024.

Since joining Labcorp in 2019 as Vice President of Decentralized Clinical Trials Technology, Bola has pioneered advancements in remote clinical trials technology, significantly enhancing patient accessibility to trials. He went on to serve as Chief Information Officer for Labcorp’s Drug Development segment, where he led digital transformation, expanded robotic process automation, and developed technology solutions for investigators and sponsors alike.

In his most recent role as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Systems, Data & Technology, Bola directed essential functions such as laboratory systems, corporate systems, robotics, and data engineering. His leadership delivered transformative technology solutions across Labcorp’s Diagnostics and Biopharma Laboratory Services segments.

Before Labcorp, Bola held leadership positions as Global Head of Virtual Trials Technology and Director of Corporate Strategy at IQVIA, and Global Head of Corporate and Digital Strategy at Cenduit. He has also advised private equity and venture capital firms and served as a board advisor for Headlands Research, a KKR portfolio company.

Bola holds a Doctorate in Microbiology and Immunology, a Master’s in Microbial Biotechnology, and an MBA from North Carolina State University.

Shakti Ramkissoon, M.D., Ph.D.

Senior Vice President, Enterprise Oncology and Diagnostics Medical Affairs

Shakti Ramkissoon is Senior Vice President, Enterprise Oncology and Diagnostics Medical Affairs at Labcorp, where he provides medical and scientific leadership across the company’s diagnostics portfolio and helps advance strategies that translate scientific innovation into clinically meaningful solutions for patients. He is board certified in anatomic pathology and neuropathology, with expertise in molecular oncology and adult and pediatric brain tumors, and has authored more than 190 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Ramkissoon earned his M.D. and Ph.D. from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where his doctoral research focused on cancer stem cell biology. He completed his anatomic pathology residency and neuropathology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and subsequently joined the hospital’s neuropathology faculty. His postdoctoral research focused on integrating histologic, molecular, and preclinical data to inform the development of clinical trials for adult and pediatric brain tumors.

He also earned a Master of Medical Sciences in Biomedical Informatics from Harvard Medical School and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Ramkissoon serves as adjunct faculty at Wake Forest Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Bryan Vaughn

President, Diagnostics

Bryan Vaughn is President, Diagnostics, where he oversees the company’s operating divisions and commercial growth strategy.

Bryan joined Labcorp in 2009, and since that time, has held multiple leadership roles. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Health Systems & Mid-America Division, leading diagnostic operations across 19 states and managing enterprise partnerships with health systems and national accounts. He has led Labcorp’s health system growth strategy since 2017.

Previously, he served as Vice President of Finance for Labcorp’s Atlantic Division, and earlier, Director of Women’s Health Segment Marketing and Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development, where he helped shape business strategy, drive product development and expand Labcorp’s market presence.

Before joining Labcorp, Bryan worked in healthcare investment banking at Raymond James, a leading financial services firm, and in health advocacy at Cigna, a global health services company.

Bryan holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in health sector management from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

Julia Wang

Chief Financial Officer

Julia Wang has served as Chief Financial Officer of Labcorp since December 2024.

Prior to joining Labcorp, Julia served as CFO of BeiGene (NASDAQ: BGNE; HKEX: 06160; SSE: 688235) since 2021, which she joined in 2020 as Senior Vice President, Enterprise Optimization and Deputy CFO. While at BeiGene, she was instrumental in driving business transformations through accelerating growth, nurturing innovation and cultivating a culture of sustainable operating efficiencies.

Julia served as Senior Vice President, Global Business Finance and Corporate Planning at Alexion Pharmaceuticals prior to BeiGene. Before Alexion, she held leadership positions at Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX), including Vice President of Finance, U.S. Regional Business and Enterprise Commercial, and Vice President of Finance, Value Creation. Julia held senior leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) as CFO of various operating businesses in medical device and pharmaceuticals earlier in her career. Previously, she led finance initiatives at PepsiCo.

Julia earned her MBA from Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and her BA in British Language and Literature from Shandong Normal University.
